Glad Summer's Over......

Don't know about ya'll, but Summer in Atlanta this year I'm fairly sure is what gave Atlanta the lovely nick name of Hot 'Lanta. Whew --- it's finally getting a little bit cooler here -- at least not in triple digits for highs any longer. Gosh, this is one of the reasons I moved back to Atlanta
from Texas. I'm thinking it may have followed me, but don't tell anyone else here in Atlanta or they may come looking for me for revenge!!

My child has been back in school for a few weeks now, my new job is really great and the weather is getting cooler at night. Now this is the life! Southern life at its perfection -- sit out on the front porch with a glass of iced tea and the dog and speak to the neighbors as they they meander through our subdivision on the nightly walk with the pooches. Last week we ended up with a real party in our yard. 13 small dogs and 9 adults - all hanging out in our front yard swapping stories and laughing. I swear it was because the temperature dipped below 90 degrees for the first evening in a month and everyone was so tired of being cramped inside in the air conditioning!

Anyway, Fall can't be too very far away and I'm already longing for that first trip up to Ellijay and Blue Ridge for the Apple Festival. Boy, there's nothing like being back home in Georgia in the Fall time!
